Came here twice in a row for dinner on a family trip to Richmond. Food is very fresh and so delicious. My mom and I shared a half chicken with the two sides and my husband had the Lomo Saltado. How do they get their rice so perfect and fluffy every time? Also staff is super friendly and kind.

This salmon!!!! Always hits!!!! Get the salmon, green rice & green beans!! Get extra green & yellow sauce! The passion fruit juice is great too!!! Their plantains are good too! I usually get my foos to go but the inside is very spacious. Service is always good.

Pork chops with a side of red potatoes and plantains, wow, it was really really good!! Whenever my husband tasted it, he smiled and said "how much is this?!" It was a good sized portion and delicious as well. They also have chica morada which is a drink made out of purple corn that they sweeten, I will need to try this next time I'm there. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you.

I love me some Peruvian Chicken! This charcoal rotisserie chicken ranks high on my list! The skin is nicely seasoned and the chicken is juicy and tender! I ordered the 1/2 chicken with cilantro rice with black beans and plantains for my sides, but the yucca was tempting! The garlic sauce was a perfect compliment to the chicken! It was all delish at $12. I also ordered a bottled tea, which brought my total to $16! Talk about sticker shock! Canastas has great food, a decent atmosphere with some outdoor seating, and ok service. I'll be sure to order water next time though! Come for the chicken, it's something to squawk about!

The food is amazing ! The yuca was a little dry and cold, but I still will be back because everything else was excellent! I can't wait to go back ! I also had the shrimp ceviche and the empanadas excellent

The best Peruvian food Ive ever had. Well it was my first time trying Peruvian food in my life. It was great! The Carne Asada was flavorful, cooked perfectly. The fried plantains were out of This world. The sauces were homemade and delicious. I cant wait to het back home to find a Peruvian joint! I will be coming back here for sure when in Richmond.

Saw this restaurant mentioned several times on social media and decided to check it out. The first visit I tried the chicken. It was very flavorful and tender. For my sides I got the green rice and plantains; the green rice is tasty - I taste cilantro and that takes it up a notch for me. The plantains were cooked perfectly and they give you a lot... enough for two. My second trip I decided on the lamb chops and I enjoyed that nice wood fire/charcoal taste. I couldn't help but get the green rice and plantains again. If you're thinking of trying one of the traditional drinks, I would suggest the Maracuya (passion fruit). The customer service was great and service was fast. The Southside location offers indoor seating if you prefer to dine in.

This food was absolutely delicious!!! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because those potatoes were a little hard and tasted a little old... but honeyyyyyyy..... omg... that grilled pork chop was everything i didn't know i needed!!! Goodness!! I will be back... this week... lol!! That chicken was so tender the bone just slid right on out... and those plantains!!! Whew chileeeee delicious. But back to the pork chop. It is cooked to order. It is in whatever their marinade is that they have and when we cut into it, it was just so tender and juicy!! Oh!! I forgot about the steak quesadilla!!! Goodness that thing was so juicy and delicious. I can't wait until I have to go back to that side of town on Wednesday lol!! Because listen to me when I tell you, this place DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL!! Another plus was that the bathroom was very clean and the employees were nice!!

Got a delicious dinner to go tonight after hearing they make the best Peruvian Chicken in the RVA. I don't know if that's true but it's definitely delicious! I got the Pollo Ever, which is grilled chicken except they marinated in spices and charbroiled it. It's seasoned well and not spicy. I got the plantains and beans and rice as my sides. It also comes with two great sauces for dipping. It was also a huge portion. I really liked it. My husband got the half chicken, dark meat, and fried yuca. The yuca was kind of like an unseasoned potato wedge and was great in the dipping sauces. The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and the skin was flavorful. Also a huge portion!

I ate here for the first time last week and thought the food was good. Extremely large portions and I only hope it stays that way and not just to lure customers in. I also tried the chicken empanadas and those were very tasty. The cost was a little High but given the portion it is not too bad. I would eat here again.
